White Painted Kalathos
Small kalathos or basket-shaped vase in White Painted ware; wheel-made; slightly concave, carinated body with everted rim; flat base; two opposing horizontal loop handles; buff clay and slip decorated with dark brown paint; interior has two broad concentric bands at the rim and base; on exterior, between each handle is a large latticed triangle with dots within each lozenge; four intersecting lines forming an eight-point star on the base; parallel bands of paint running around the base of the vase below the handles; solid bands on the handles; surface worn in places.
