White Slip Bowl with Orange Decoration
Pottery White Slip I ware hemispherical bowl; originally with tubular spout, now missing; base flattened; hand-made; horizontal loop handle at maximum diameter; thick pale buff slip with traces of burnishing; painted orange decoration in fine line style with hatched lozenge rim motif below rim, terminating on either side of the spout and handle; wavy line around entire rim; four pendant sets of running hatched lozenges with exterior row of dots framed by double vertical lines to base; line along handle with sets of dashes on top; fabric red with dark brown core; surface worn, especially at base and handle.
