Plate
Plate: A shallow plate or bowl with a plain rim and a low ring foor. It is of Bichrome III or according to Catling Bichrome I decoration in dark brown and red. Inside there are black bands on the rim, a succession of black and red bands on the floor: the outer in black, broad red, three black and a large central solid red circle at the centre. In the exterior there is black paint on the rim; the lower body has bands of three fine black, broad red, three fine black and paint on the ring foot and on the face of the handles. In the exterior floor there are four large lequally spaced atticed traingles, their tops touching the outemost of three fine black bands around a large central red circle. The plate has been repaired but two fragments of the handles and one smaller sherd from its body remain unjoined. - Made of Pottery Culture: Cypro-Geometric III
