Black Slip Cup
Pottery cup resembling late Black Slip or Stroke Polished ware; wheel-made; deep hemispherical body with incurving sides, on a narrow, flattened base; tall concave neck flaring outwards to a rounded rim; made of orange clay covered with a thin black slip, crudely applied inside and out, now worn away in many places; surface not obviously polished, despite the similarity to Stroke Polished ware.
