Bichrome Wishbone Plate
Shallow pottery plate or bowl in Bichrome ware; wheelmade; carinated sides with champfered rim; two opposed horizontal wishbone handles (one now lost); buff clay decorated with purple-brown and red paint; inside a maltese cross surrounded by concentric bands, rows of short parallel strokes on the rim; solid paint on handles (all in purple-brown); exterior has white maltese cross on black background in centre surrounded by broad red band and three narrow brown ones; then a register of hatched triangles within flanking lines and groups of short strokes (all in purple-brown) bounded by broader bands; probably Bichrome II ware.
