Phoenician Pilgrim Flask
Pottery lentoid flask ('pilgrim flask') in Phoencian ware or a local Cypriot version; wheel-made; lentoid globular body; narrow neck with a flaring mouth (one half now missing); pair of opposing handles from shoulder to mid neck. Made of fairly coarse orange-buff clay (numerous fine black inclusions), the surface fired a lighter buff-pink; decorated with black and red-purple paint: concentric bands on both sides of the body.
