WPW III Painted Bowl
Small handleless pottery bowl in WPW III ware; flat base and straight, slightly flaring sides; counter-sunk concave base (ca. 3.1 cm in diameter); plain rim with slight lip projecting inwards, damaged in places; reddish-pink gritty clay; minimal or no slip apparent; exterior of vessel appears to have lost all of its painted decoration except for traces of a band of red paint separating the sides and the base; interior has traces of a band of red paint in the same position and a closed relief spiral on the floor of the vessel; traces of red paint in the centre of the spiral; lip of rim is painted in matt brown.
