Red Polished III Jar

Pottery jar ('amphora') in Red Polished III ware; handmade; squat globular body and a round base and wide flaring neck with four pierced projections on the rim; pair of opposing handles with round sections set diagonally mid-body; pair of pierced lugs on the junction of neck and body; fine buff clay covered with a burnished red slip; white-filled incised decoration: concentrics, zig-zags, lozenges, bands of horizontal and vertical parallel lines; surface worn and accreted in places.
