Woman with diadem

Woman with a diadem of the since the end of the 6th century BCBC reinforced Greek influence becomes clear in the limestone sculpture, particularly by taking over the type of archaic-Greek core with a diadem. This head of a woman from the 1st quarter of the 5th century BCBC comes from a somewhat sub -life votive statue in the style of Greek role models. The narrow, elongated face with the flat cheeks and the above chin is characterized by the slightly sloping, almond -shaped, somewhat presented eyes; The angles of the closed mouth are raised.Above the forehead in the middle a bunning hair from five horizontal lines, framed by the side of hanging short curls;an unpaid diadem. The hair is only roughly laid out on the top of the head and falls on the back in wide, vertically structured strands.Behind the ears you can see the remnants of three -stroke shoulder curls, which are held together by clasps. The ears are decorated with rosette -shaped ear slopes; The woman wears a simple collar with an almond -shaped trailer on the neck. The type of Greek Kore with diadem is occupied by numerous objects in Cyprus, which were mainly created in the first half of the 5th century, but still in degenerated form into the4th century BCChr.Bernhard-Walcher and others, the Cypricer Antique Collection in the KHM.Collection catalogs of the KHM Vol. 2, Vienna 1999 (A.
