Limestone Seated Female Statue
Limestone statue of a female seated in a high-backed chair or throne; head and top of the chair are missing. The left hand is held to the face, the right holds a square casket on her lap, She wears a vertically pleated tunic extended to the feet, over which is a cloak of similar length; the tunic is very sheer and emphasises the breasts. The feet extend from under the tunic, and seem to be shod in plain slippers or sandles. Around her neck is a single necklace composed of large oval-shaped pendants. The chair has a high back and arm rests, but is undecorated. Traces of red and yellow paint. Dimensions: Height: 32 centimetres max Object Type: figure Techniques: painted
