Bichrome Hathor Amphora
Pottery amphora in Bichrome V ware decorated with a painted female head in a Hathor pose; ovoid-globular body; low ring base; slim vertical loop-handles at each side; neck missing (possibly broken and then deliberately levelled off); between the handles is a central frieze framed below by alternating light and dark bands and above with registers of floral and abstract motifs; on both sides of the vase, the central frieze depicts a Hathor head between two stylised trees: details of her hair are incised; the flanking panels are in-filled with cross-hatching.
