Bichrome Merchant Ship Model
Terracotta model of a merchant ship decorated in Bichrome technique; hand-made; rounded hull with a tall bulwark or poop-deck projecting above the back of the ship; made of smooth orange-buff clay, with purple and black striped decoration on the exterior of one side (the paint on the other has disappeared and the interior is plain); repaired from two pieces and part of the prow on the left side is missing; surface generally worn.
