Bichrome Cart Model
Terracotta model of a two-wheeled cart carrying a large jar for oil or wine in Bichrome ware; hand-made; the vessel is an almost biconical amphora with a tall flaring neck and rolled rim; projecting socket on one side for the draught pole; two narrow clay projections on the opposite side may represent the planks of the cart, though the vase is mounted directly on an axel through an extension of the base; deep groove around the middle of the vase; made buff clay decorated with bands of brown and purple paint; axel and wheels modern.
