Bichrome Red Rhyton
Pottery spouted rhyton or trick-vase in Bichrome Red ware; wheel-made; spherical body with high splaying concave foot perforated on the underside; the spout is attached to the body through an head protome; arched basket handle with tall boss on top; buff clay with red-orange slip decorated in black and white paint (the latter especially faded in many places): concentric bands around the body and shoulder of the vase framing concentric circles and black vertical strokes on white ground; the anatomical details of the ox-head are also picked out in paint.
