Bichrome Figurine

Pottery figurine decorated in Bichrome technique; hand-made; self-slipped; cylindrical body flaring at hollowed base; modelled arms join in front of the body and clasp a red painted, circular disc, probably a tambourine; the figure wears a modelled head-dress which comes across the front of the forehead, painted in red, and falls in black-painted bands either side of the head, behind the ears; ears are modelled and painted in red; the nose and chin are modelled and the eyes and mouth depicted in black and red paint respectively; red paint details are also present above the nose, around the chin and around the neck; the body and arms are docrated in red and black horizontal bands but there is no painted decoration on the rear of the figure.
