Bichrome Pyxis Jar
Pottery pyxis or jar on three looped legs in Bichrome ware; wheel-made; cylindrical body with vertical sides curving inwards at the top and bottom; flat rim with slightly everted disc-profile; three looped feet joined at the base of the jar; two opposing handles in form of moufflon-heads; cream slip decorated with black and purple paint: bands of horizontal lines at the top and bottom of the body; in between are large quatrefoil motif with spiky leaves framed by vertical bands of parallel lines each side.
