Bichrome Duck Vase
Terracotta duck vase in Bichrome Ware; wheel-made; elongated body with a rounded base, ending at the back in a tail; tubular neck enlarging into a head with beak; simple loop handle rising from the middle of the bird's back. Made of buff clay fired a pale white colour, with red-purple and black painted decoration: hatched lozenge in the centre of each side, parallel black strokes on the tail; eyes painted black and beak and top of head in red-purple.
