Carved Ivory Vessel
Ivory (hippopotamus incisor) vessel (?); straight rim and conical body, tapering towards base; narrow cylindrical protrusion at one end, presumably for the attachment of a footed base; hole pierced through one side; decorated in three carved bands framed by two or three horizontal lines, including horizontal concentric semicircles below the rim and at the base, and vertical concentric semicircles interspersed with vertical double wavy lines and dots; beneath the lower band are two horizontal rows of rope pattern.
