Base Ring Pyxis
Pottery pyxis, approximately 1/4 missing and partly repaired, in Base Ring II ware (?) imitating a Mycenaean shape; squat biconical body with rounded base; concave neck; everted rim added separately; three pierced lug-handles (two surviving); very thin, but relatively coarse, orange-buff clay with grey core similar to Base Ring fabric; orange-buff slip; decorated in matt brown paint in the manner of Base Ring II ware: irregular bands of parallel lines on lower part of vase and with multiple concentric lines between the handles.
