Base Ring Bull Askos
Pottery bull askos in Base Ring II ware; hand-made; elongated elliptical body with pointed ends on an oval ring base; the surface, including spout and neck of protome, has been shaved with a tool; tall cylindirical spout, with slighly concave sides, rising from the centre of the body; single vertical handle arching from body to rim of spout; bull's head protome on the end of the vase: hollow spout, pellet eyes, plain horns and ears (one of the latter is missing); made from orange-buff clay fired black-red and painted in white with a chequer pattern on the body.
