Pottery tankard in Base Ring I ware; handmade; depressed piriform body with a ring base and a wide neck tapering to a circular mouth with a flat rim; high strap handle from rim to shoulder, incised with a herringbone pattern; buff clay with mottled brown, lustrous slip; decorated with antitheical spirals on the front of the body and relief rings just below the ring and at the neck base.
