White Slip Tankard
Pottery White Slip I ware tankard; hand-made; ovoid body on a low ring base; wide neck with horizontal everted rim; strap handle from rim to shoulder with thumb-rest projection at the top; opposite the handle is a trefoil shaped projection Made of red-brown clay with cream to beige slip, decorated with purple-red paint: concentric bands consisting of lines and dots, with similar vertical bands connecting them; interior rim painted with bands and groups of parallel lines; surface very abraded in places.
