Base Ring Ware Juglet
Base Ring I pottery juglet, sealed with a plug of black tar-like residue; hand-made globular body with slightly angular shoulder on a tall conical base; long narrow neck tapering to a trumpet mouth; vertical strap handle from shoulder to neck: two horizontal relief ridges mark the junction of handle and neck; orange-brown clay with numerous small white inclusions, covered with a thin brown lustrous slip; parallel burnishing marks evident on the neck; one side of the body is blackened, possibly from the firing process; base repaired.
