Red Polished Gourd Juglet
Red Polished pottery juglet; hand-made; gourd-shaped body; long neck with flaring, funnel-like rim (partly missing); handle missing apart from short stump at the base; small lug or boss at base of neck opposite the handle; incised decoration on body and neck filled with white lime in organised pattern: vertical parallel lines with oblique fringe by handle and boss, parallel lines flanked by concentric semi-circles at right angles to handle, spaces between filled with zig-zag or chevron pattern, horizontal parallel lines and semi-circles on neck; homogeneous buff-pink clay; slip damaged between bosses and handle stump.
