Archaic II
Terracotta table
This is one of three known Cypriot models of tables. The rectangular top is supported on three legs, a convention familiar from the Aegean region and the Near East as well. The checkerboard pattern on the top is interesting; it recalls the shrouds of Attic geometric funerary vases and raises the question whether these tables might have been used as biers. H. 2 7/8 in.
