Head of a bearded man The life -size head fragment of a bearded, wrnant man who has repeated a type of votive statues that has been known since the middle of the 6th century, comes from a relief from the second half of the 5th century BC.The head, which is almost fully plastic from the relief, is reproduced to the right in the three -quarter profile, the face is shaped by deep, large eyes and a full mouth.The hair, which ends in spirals, also forms twelve regularly arranged over the forehead.The cheek beard consists of similar spirals, which also form the end of the streaked mustache.There are still traces of red painting on the lips and the right forehead.Bernhard-Walcher u.Collection catalogs of the KHM Vol. 2, Vienna: 1999 H. 23 cm, B. 43 cm, D. 20 cm
