Limestone Reclining Statuette
Limestone figurine of a young beardless man reclining on a couch, perhaps representing a participant at a sacred or funeral banquet; he faces forward with his right hand on his hip, his left on a cushion; apart from the face which shows East Greek influence, such as the hair and slightly raised lips, the anatomical details are schematically rendered; the body and head are somewhat worn; some traces of the original paint; the head has been re-attached to the body; figurine currently mounted on a modern limestone plinth.
