Archaic II
Limestone Flower Votary Statuette
Torso of a limestone statuette of a female holding a flower, probably a votary. Head and lower body missing. She wears what appears to be a short-sleeved costume, though the treatment of the suviving wrist might suggest that this was worn over a wrist-length top as well. The right hand is held to the breast, holding a flower (? lotus). The left arm (much mutilated) hangs by the side (hand missing, but the wrist also looks as if the sculptor depicted a long-armed garment). Around the neck are two necklaces of beads, each supporitng a pendant. Dimensions: Height: 20 centimetres max Object Type: statue Techniques: carved
