Black-on-Red Globular Jug
Large pottery jug in Black-on-Red ware; wheel-made; globular body on a slightly splaying ring base; tall narrow neck with a trefoil mouth; double-ribbed handle from shoulder to rim; buff clay with a poorly fired black-red slip, decorated with intersecting bands and concentric circles in black paint; surface paint worn away in many places, revealing the fabric beneath the fugitive black paint.
