Neo-Cypriote Bearded Man
Head and part of upper body of a large terracotta statue of a bearded man, probably a worshipper or priest; Neo-Cypriote Style; hollow, handmade with mouded features; hair, beard and moustache marked with bands of incised ('feathered') hatching; large eyes with eyelids marked by prominent ridges of clay; large nose and small mouth with shallow lips; the top of the head is lost, but remains of a double turban are visible, with a grooved boss in the centre of the forehead; behind, his hair falls in a thick mass; much red and black paint remains.
