Bronze Lotus Lamp Stand
Top of a bronze lamp-stand or incense-burning stand; cylindrical socket with incised parallel lines at the top and bottom; narrower octagonal cylinder above (with possible traces of the original wooden shaft in the interior) supporting two inverted eight-leaved calices; above is a smaller disc decorated on top and botom with incised parallel lines supporting three elongated lotus leaves joined at the top by a ring; the leaves have a triangular profile with chamfered edges; piece is complete but bronze is quite corroded; the upper and lower parts may have been cast separately and welded together.
