Terracotta Horse and Rider Figurine
Terracotta figure of horse and male rider; hand-made; the rider has a roughly modelled body with large nose and ears and pellets for eyes; no legs are indicated though his torso is treated separately from that of the horse; the animal has an elongated body with short legs and a long, protruding head with a mane; his tail hangs along the right back leg; made from fairly coarse, buff clay with numerous inclusions, with what appears to be a cream-white wash or slip.
