Bichrome Red Amphora
Large pottery jar in Bichrome-Red ware; wheel-made; biconical body on a ring base; wide cylindrical neck with a thick, rolled rim; pair of opposing handles at the shoulder. Made of orange clay covered with a dull red slip and decorated with black/brown and white paint clay: horizonral bands on the body and neck: friezes of concentirc circles on the body and neck, the former superimposed by a faint lattice in white paint. The neck has distorted in firing; hole in the wall of the vessel; surface worn in many places.
