Ox Figurine Askos
Painted terracotta figurine or askos in the form of an ox carrying a krater on its back; hollow, tubular hand-made body, probably with a spout in the nose of the animal (now damaged); he stands on large rectangular legs; large rump, with a tail which curls down along the back left hand leg; large upright horns and prominent ears; the vase hollow vase, through which the vessel was filled, merges with the body of the ox: depressed biconical shape, concave neck and everted rim, with two curving handles form shoulder to inside the rim, modelled separately; made of coarse buff clay decorated with black and purple paint: stripes on the body, legs and vase.
