Terracotta Adoration Figure
Upper part of a terracotta figure with two female heads; mould-made faces and hand-made (?) plank-shaped body with arms applied separately; the arms are held at the breast in adoration, with the hands held one above the other; plump rounded faces with prominent ears; the hair falls on each side of the ears in long black tresses in an archaic manner; buff clay with a lighter slip; the slight bulge on the stomach may indicate pregnancy in the dea gravida tradition; traces of red paint on the faces, with black paint on the hair (including a thick mass at the back).
