White Bird Jug
Pottery jug in the form of a bird in White Painted ware; wheel-made; ovoid body with a pair of wings projecting from the top and a fan tail from the back; the elongated spout forms the head of the animal; single handle, oval section, extending from the centre of the top of the body to the spout; three stump feet; three applied pellets on breast, one in the form of a crescent. Made of cream-white clay decorated with black matt paint: annules on body, ladder-pattern on handle.
