Black-on-Red Trefoil Jug
Pottery jug in Black-on-Red ware; wheel-made; ovoid body on a ring base; wide cylindrical neck with a trefoil mouth, rim everted; single strap handle with a rectangula section from shoulder to mid neck: prominent ridge aroundthe neck at this point. Made of buff clay covered with a lustrous red slip (though this has inconsistently fired black over a good deal of the vessel, including much of the neck); the upper part of the jug is decorated in black paint with horizontal black bands and concentric circles on the shoulder above.
