Bichrome Spouted Jug
Small spouted pottery jug in Bichrome ware; wheel-made; ovoid body on a turned base, concave underneath; narrow concave neck with a rounded, everted rim; single strap handle from shoulder to rim; short cylindrical spout on shoulder set at right-angle to handle, with three perforations in the body of the vase for drainage or straining the contents; green-buff clay with a variable slip from cream to orange, decorated in purple to brown paint: parallel bands on the body, base of neck, rim and inside the mouth; triangles filled with a checker-board pattern and swastikas in the open field; jagged line around the neck; a zig-zag on the handle; thick band around the junction of spout and body, with two curved bands down its length.
