White Painted Amphora

Pottery amphora or jar in White Painted ware; wheel-made; ovoid-piriform body on a ring base; narrow concave neck and a flaring everted rim; pair of large opposing loop handles; orange-red fabric decorated in matt black paint: broad and narrow parallel bands on the neck and body, a single thin wavy line in panel bewteen the handles, vertical file of hatched lozenges framed by parallel lines on the shoulder, with a concentric circle group on each side, solid black handles; surface much encrusted.
