White Painted Askos
White Painted ware pottery askos; flattened spherical body; protruding, zoomorphic spout with ear-like string holes on each side; small arching handle on top; four string-hole projections round the centre of the body; buff clay and slip with black geometric decoration: on the top of the vessel are four quadrants of large cross-hatched triangles separated by parallel bands with zig-zags and wavy lines; beneath are four symmetrically arranged parallel bands enclosing wavy lines which converge on a circle defining the rounded base; irregular concentric bands around the neck with a wavy band connecting the string-holes.
